Who I am

This website, krispicker.com.au, belongs to me, Kris Picker. I'm an author, coach and speaker based in Australia. If you have any question about your information, email me at hello@krispicker.com.au.

What I collect, and why

• When you sign up for the prologue or my email list: your first name and email address. I use them to send you the prologue, book news and the occasional note from me.
• When you send a coaching or speaking enquiry: your name, email address and whatever you choose to tell me in the form. That might include details about your injury or health. I use it only to reply to you and to work out how I can help.
• When you book a free chat: your name, email address, the answers to the booking questions, and phone number if you give it. I use them to hold our call.

I only collect what you choose to give me. I never sell, rent or trade your information, and I never share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Health information

If you tell me about your brain injury or health, I treat it as sensitive and confidential. By sending it, you agree that I can use it to respond to you and, if we work together, to support you. It stays between us unless the law requires otherwise or there's a serious risk to someone's safety.

I'm a coach sharing lived experience, not a medical professional. Nothing on this website or in my emails is medical advice.

The services that help me

I use a few trusted services to run this website. They store your information on my behalf, and some of them are based overseas (mainly the United States):

• Kit (kit.com): my email list and the prologue emails.
• Netlify (netlify.com): hosts this website and receives the enquiry forms.
• Web3Forms (web3forms.com): passes your coaching or speaking enquiry on to my inbox.
• Calendly (calendly.com) and Google Meet: booking and holding calls.
• Zoho Mail: my business email, stored in Zoho's Australian data centre.
• Google Fonts: the fonts on this website load from Google, which means Google can see your device's IP address.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy and security measures.

Cookies and tracking

I don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and I don't run analytics that follow you around the internet. If you turn on Easier reading, your browser remembers that choice on your own device. It never comes to me.

My emails may record whether they were opened or a link was clicked, so I know what's useful. That's standard for email services.

Unsubscribing

Every email I send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you're off my list, no questions asked. You can also just reply and ask.

Seeing, changing or deleting your information

You can ask me at any time what information I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email hello@krispicker.com.au and I'll sort it out within 30 days, usually much sooner.

Keeping it safe

This website uses a secure connection (HTTPS), and I only keep your information for as long as I need it to do what you asked.

Concerns

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please email me first and I'll do my best to make it right. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If I change how I handle your information, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
